COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of the Veterans
of Foreign Wars Post No. 7289 in Pulaski, New York,
on March 16, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend and
support the purposeful cause of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the
United States of America, recognizing its long and sustained commitment
to the principles of democracy and freedom so revered by this State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
No. 7289 to be celebrated Saturday, March 16, 2019; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7289
are always available to support veterans and their families in times of
need; they are a symbol of military heritage, community and patriotism;
and

WHEREAS, For 50 years, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7289
has remained true to its mission, hosting numerous events within the
community to show support for active members stationed overseas,
including drives to provide care packages and card and letter campaigns;
and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to the
community, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7289 gives tirelessly
of its time and energies to the Pulaski School District; and

WHEREAS, This milestone is a time to pause and reflect on the events
the members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7289 hold in
reverent tribute to the men and women who served their country in
defense of its ideals of democracy and freedom, on the many
contributions rendered to community organizations, and on its continuing
efforts to foster understanding of their heritage and role in society;
and

WHEREAS, The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7289 of Pulaski, New
York, has a noble past, accomplishing its mission and performing its
good deeds in a spirit of comradeship true to the highest traditions of
the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America; and

WHEREAS, Mindful of its proud and honored history, the Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post No. 7289 celebrates with just pride and true honor,
its 50th Anniversary of service to its community and the needs and
values of veterans across the State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7289
is in direct correlation to the efforts of Commander Albert Rodriguez
and Quartermaster Leroy Bowen Jr., as well as its members, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of

excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the
community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend the
devoted leadership of the Post's outstanding Commanders, both present
and past, and the absolute commitment of its many proud members, noting
the role played by this exceptional organization and recognizing the
significance of the contributions and sacrifices of the membership of
the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7289 of Pulaski, New York; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
No. 7289 to be celebrated March 16, 2019, and to wish it continued
success in the coming years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7289, Pulaski, New
York.
