Assembly Resolution No. 264

CONGRATULATING Lily Hall upon the occasion of
capturing the 2019 USA Track and Field Indoor 13-14
Girls Triple Jump Championship on March 17, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the State of New York who, by
achieving outstanding success in athletic competition, have inspired and
brought pride to their school and community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Lily Hall upon the occasion of capturing the 2019 USA Track
and Field Indoor 13-14 Girls Triple Jump Championship on Sunday, March
17, 2019, at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New
York; and

WHEREAS, An eighth grader at Dundee Central School, Lily Hall is a
standout triple jumper for the Watkins Glen Indoor Track Team; she was
proudly crowned the 2019 USA Track and Field Indoor 13-14 Girls Triple
Jump Championship with an outstanding jump of 10.58 meters; and

WHEREAS, In addition to this monumental feat, Lily Hall captured the
Section V Championship in triple jump and was the recipient of the
Highest Point Total Award as a seventh grader; and

WHEREAS, An exceptional student-athlete, Lily Hall hopes to win a
scholarship and attend a Division I College where she will continue to
excel in both academics and track; and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as the triple jump, which demands athletic
prowess, speed and agility, Coaches Scott Shepardson, Joe Hober and
Dennis Jemison worked hard to hone the skills of this champion, teaching
this outstanding athlete lessons which will prove invaluable both in and
out of the pit; and

WHEREAS, In light of her recent accomplishments, Lily Hall has
brought honor and just pride to her club, school and community on the
local, State and National level; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Lily Hall upon the occasion of capturing the 2019 USA Track
and Field Indoor 13-14 Girls Triple Jump Championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lily Hall and Coaches Scott Shepardson, Joe Hober and
Dennis Jemison.
