COMMENDING Mohawk Honda upon the occasion of
celebrating its 100th Anniversary

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize
illustrious local businesses which have positively impacted and
substantially contributed to the vitality of their communities by
providing quality products and service and engaging in philanthropic
endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Mohawk Honda in the Town of Glenville upon the occasion of
celebrating its 100th Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Haraden first opened Mohawk Honda in 1919 and
through the years, Mohawk Honda has been serving the Albany,
Schenectady, Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs, and Latham communities
selling many different models, meeting generations of families, and
doing it all by making sure they always satisfy the customer's needs;
and

WHEREAS, Family owned and operated, Mohawk Honda believes that being
a part of their community is more than just helping someone find a new
or used vehicle, donating their time and resources to help many local
groups and charities like the Deanna Rivers Foundation, University of
Albany, The Chris Stewart Foundation, the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society,
and many others; and

WHEREAS, In addition to monetary donations, Mohawk Honda's nearly
200 employees regularly commit to serving a total of 10,000 hours of
community service annually; and

WHEREAS, Standing strong for those who have no voice, Mohawk Honda
and the Haraden family regularly host pet adoption clinics at their
location in the Town of Glenville to help countless companion animals
find forever homes; and

WHEREAS, Mohawk Honda has been recognized among the top five percent
of Honda dealers in the nation for outstanding performance in sales and
customer service receiving the coveted Honda Masters Circle Award for
four consecutive years; and

WHEREAS, During 10 decades of the dealership's development, Mohawk
Honda has sought to uphold the highest moral integrity in all aspects of
the automobile business and is extremely proud of its nationally
renowned reputation in customer satisfaction; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and state economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the successes it has experienced thus far in the years to come;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Mohawk Honda upon the occasion of celebrating its 100th
Anniversary; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mohawk Honda, and members of the Haraden Family.
