COMMENDING the Capital District-NY Chapter of the
New Leaders Council for its ceaseless dedication to
equip civic and business leaders with the skills
needed to effect meaningful change in their
communities

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Capital District-NY Chapter of the New Leaders Council for
its ceaseless dedication to equip civic and business leaders with the
skills needed to effect meaningful change in their communities; and

WHEREAS, The New Leaders Council (NLC) works to train and empower
the next generation of political leaders in traditional and
nontraditional power structures; and

WHEREAS, Operating in 40 communities across the country, the New
Leaders Council has worked to expand its presence and has trained more
than 2,000 new leaders since 2006; and

WHEREAS, The Capital District-NY Chapter of the New Leaders Council
was founded in 2014, and is a pioneer organization within the capital
region, training individuals from outside of traditional power
structures and engaging them on both local and national levels; and

WHEREAS, This vital organization has worked tirelessly to equip
trendsetters and emerging civic and business leaders with the skills
needed to effect meaningful change in their communities; its
fundraising, policy and leadership workshops have proved invaluable to
leaders across the country; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, the New Leaders Council has
demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities which
it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Capital District-NY Chapter of the New
Leaders Council is in direct correlation to the efforts of its dedicated
members, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Capital District-NY
Chapter of the New Leaders Council; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Capital District-NY Chapter of the New Leaders Council for
its ceaseless dedication to equip civic and business leaders with the
skills needed to effect meaningful change in their communities; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Capital District-NY Chapter of the New Leaders
Council.
