HONORING Ginny Clark upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the William J. Mitchell
Award by the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond reproach and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Ginny Clark has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special recognition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ginny Clark
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the William J.
Mitchell Award by the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, The William J. Mitchell Award is named after Bill Mitchell,
a former Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce and a past
recipient of the Mr. Canandaigua Award; this Award is presented to a
member of the community who has given exceptional service to the Chamber
of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, Ginny Clark has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service,
Ginny Clark has been instrumental in the renovation of special projects
such as The Inn on the Lake, as well as helping to make the
Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center the success it
is today; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Ginny Clark has volunteered her time and
leadership to several organizations, including the New York Kitchen,
Finger Lakes Community College and Thompson Health; and

WHEREAS, Contributing her time and talents to countless civic and
charitable endeavors, Ginny Clark has always been willing to give back
to her community; she has supported the Canandaigua Airport, the
Canandaigua YMCA and Mercy Flight, a project she holds near and dear to
her heart; and

WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous awards and accolades, this
exceptional woman was the recipient of the 2009 esteemed Canandaigua
ATHENA Leadership Award; and

WHEREAS, After many years of ceaseless dedicated service, Ginny
Clark will be retiring from one of the highest positions in
Constellation Brands to take on a new role as Executive Director of the
Sands Family Foundation from Florida; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Rob; three
daughters, Shaunna, Allison, and Shannon; and six grandchildren,

Sarah-Kate, Elizabeth, Edward, Brooke, Kiera and Robert, who have all
shown her love and support and rejoice in her many achievements; her
late parents, Rocco and Elizabeth Maio, undoubtedly her biggest fans,
were extremely proud of Ginny and enjoyed watching her reach her goals
and aspirations; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ginny Clark upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the William J. Mitchell Award, and to wish her continued success in all
her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ginny Clark.
