HONORING Menzo Case upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2019 Citizen of the
Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce
on January 16, 2020

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those distinguished citizens who would devote their life's work
and purpose to community service, contributing to the welfare of the
citizens of their communities and this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Menzo Case upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2019
Citizen of the Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce, to
be celebrated at its Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Thursday,
January 16, 2020, in The Vine Theater at Del Lago Resort and Casino in
Waterloo, New York; and

WHEREAS, This outstanding individual is receiving this prestigious
award for his countless hours of volunteer work, and outstanding service
which has significantly contributed to the betterment of his community
and the Finger Lakes region as a whole; and

WHEREAS, Menzo Case, the son of Dan and Ginny Szabo, was born on
November 1, 1963, in Gloversville, New York; after graduating from
Fonda-Fultonville Central School in 1981, he proudly served his country
as a member of the United States Marine Corps where he achieved the rank
of Sergeant; and

WHEREAS, In 1989, Menzo Case earned his bachelor's degree in
accounting from SUNY Albany, and began his long and distinguished career
as Supervising Senior with KPMG until 1993, when he assumed the role of
EVP for Gloversville Federal Savings; in February of 1999, he held the
position of CFO for Generations Bank, and transitioned to the title of
President and CEO in 2008; and

WHEREAS, For his steadfast and unremitting commitment to his
profession, Menzo Case was the recipient of numerous awards and
accolades including the IDEA Center for the Voices of Humanity George
Bailey Award, the 2010 Seneca County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the
Year Award, NYSDOA Civic Leadership Award, Catholic Charities of the
Finger Lakes Sharing the Light Award, and the Journal News Network Biz
Events Good Samaritan Award; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his professional role, Menzo Case is a
devoted member of his community, serving in numerous capacities such as
President of Habitat for Humanity of Seneca County, and member of both
the Seneca Falls DRI and Sampson Park Veterans Cemetery Committees and
the American Legion; and

WHEREAS, This remarkable man also established Honor House and Cafe
XIX, and serves on the Boards of NYCC, FLH, Rev. Theater Company, Finger
Lakes Christian Fellowship, Seneca County IDA, National Women's Hall of

Fame, Women's Right to Run 19K, FL WIB, Catholic Charities of the Finger
Lakes, Seneca Falls Development Corporation, CFPB Community Advisory,
and Finger Lakes BSA; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Susan, and their
four children, Jacqueline, Dezaree, Racquel and Zachary, all of whom
feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his
achievements; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Menzo Case upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2019 Citizen of the Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of
Commerce on January 16, 2020; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Menzo Case.
