HONORING Purple Pony Therapeutic Horsemanship upon
the occasion of its designation as recipient of the
2019 Special Service Recognition of the Year Award
by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations devoted to improving the
quality of life for others, enabling them to build lives of dignity and
self-worth are deserving of the highest praise and recognition; and

WHEREAS, From time to time, society calls upon these individuals and
organizations to be recognized for the significance of their
contributions and efforts to assist others in developing the skills
necessary to be successful, productive citizens; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Purple Pony
Therapeutic Horsemanship upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the 2019 Special Service Recognition of the Year Award by
the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its 47th
Annual Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the Quality Inn &
Suites in Batavia, New York; and

WHEREAS, Purple Pony Therapeutic Horsemanship is receiving this
auspicious award for its demonstrated growth and commitment to Genesee
County; and

WHEREAS, Located in LeRoy, New York, Purple Pony focuses on
therapeutic horsemanship, equine activities organized and taught by
knowledgeable and skilled instructors to people with disabilities or
those with diverse needs; and

WHEREAS, Purple Pony's certified therapeutic horsemanship
instructors tirelessly serve the special needs population, typically
those with an intellectual or developmental disability, from ages four
through late adulthood; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, under the able leadership of Purple Pony
President and Board Chair Daniel Kilker, students' progress in
equestrian skills while improving their cognitive, emotional, social and
behavioral skills; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, Purple Pony Therapeutic
Horsemanship has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of Purple Pony Therapeutic Horsemanship is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its hardworking and dedicated staff
and volunteers, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized
by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an
uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the
organization and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Purple Pony Therapeutic
Horsemanship; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Purple Pony Therapeutic Horsemanship upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the 2019 Special Service Recognition of the
Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Daniel Kilker, President and Board Chair, Purple Pony
Therapeutic Horsemanship.
