HONORING Daniel Burke upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Henry Crandall Award
by the Crandall Public Library

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Burke has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special recognition; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Daniel Burke upon his designation as recipient of the Henry Crandall
Award by the Crandall Public Library, to be celebrated at its 10th
Annual Gala on Friday, September 27, 2019, at The Queensbury Hotel,
Glens Falls, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Henry Crandall Award recognizes a person who has
demonstrated the values and legacy of the library's founder, including
such things as generosity, perseverance, loyalty, compassion, civic
pride, and philanthropy; Daniel Burke is one such individual; and

WHEREAS, Recently retired from NBT Bank, Daniel Burke served as
President of the North County Region since June of 2007; he has had over
35 years of banking experience, including serving as President and CEO
of TD Bank New York and its predecessor, Evergreen Bank; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Queensbury, New York, Daniel Burke has been
called upon to contribute his time and talents to countless civic and
charitable endeavors and has always given of himself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Burke is a member of Plattsburgh State College
Council and Chairman of the Adirondack Health Institute; in 2012, he was
the recipient of the 23rd Annual J. Walter Juckett Community Service
Award by the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, Currently, Daniel Burke is the President of the Adirondack
Civic Center Coalition, Glens Falls Business Improvement District, as
well as the Greater Glens Falls Amateur Athletic Championship
Association; and

WHEREAS, A tremendous supporter of the Crandall Public Library,
Daniel Burke has demonstrated a profound dedication to the betterment of
the local community; he continues to show his commitment by donating
both his time and talent to multiple non-profits throughout the years;
and

WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of his duties and volunteer
efforts, Daniel Burke's ongoing endeavors and notable achievements have
significantly contributed to bettering the quality of life in his
community; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Daniel Burke upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Henry Crandall Award by the Crandall Public Library; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Daniel Burke.
