HONORING John Mosher upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Lifetime Achiever of
the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce
on March 5, 2020

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those distinguished citizens who would devote their life's work
and purpose to community service, contributing to the welfare of the
citizens of their communities and this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
John Mosher upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Lifetime Achiever of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce,
to be celebrated at its 48th Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, March 5,
2020, at Samuel's Grande Manor, Williamsville, New York; and

WHEREAS, John Mosher is receiving this prestigious award for his
steadfast and unremitting commitment to his beloved community of
Clarence, New York; and

WHEREAS, As founder of the Mosher Agency along with his wife Althea,
John Mosher loved finding homes for families in Clarence, and used the
platform to encourage their active participation in their new community;
and

WHEREAS, An advocate for veteran outreach, John Mosher has been
active with the American Legion Post No. 838 in various roles, from Post
Commander to Post Board of Directors; in 2015, he was inducted into the
New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Each year, John Mosher participates in the Memorial Day
Parade and the Clarence Center Fire Department's Labor Day Parade;
additionally, for years he volunteered for the iconic "I Got It" tent at
the Labor Day Fair; and

WHEREAS, A true asset to his community, John Mosher has been active
with the Clarence JCs, Clarence Chamber of Commerce, and Clarence Senior
Citizens Sewer Task Force; he served as President of St. John's Lutheran
Home for Children for 10 years, and as a board member for 43 years; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, he was instrumental in developing the
Greenfields through his involvement with Niagara Lutheran Health System,
and has worked tirelessly to promote Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Center as
a resource for recreation and fellowship for families of Western New
York; and

WHEREAS, John Mosher also established the Mosher Farm Conservation
Easement, which ensures that 43 acres of agricultural and wooded land
will be protected in perpetuity as part of the Clarence Greenprint
program; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, the late Althea, with him
throughout have been his three children, Linda, David and Carol, as well
as six grandchildren and two great-grandsons, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his many
achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which John Mosher has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
John Mosher, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor John Mosher upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Lifetime Achiever of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of
Commerce, and to wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to John Mosher.
