CONGRATULATING Denice P. Golden upon the occasion
of her retirement after more than 30 years of
distinguished service to the City of Rome, New York
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens of this great Empire State who have
devoted themselves to faithfully serving the best interests of their
community and the needs of its residents; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Denice P. Golden upon the occasion of her retirement after
more than 30 years of distinguished service to the City of Rome, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Denice P. Golden began her illustrious career in public
service with the City of Rome on September 25, 1990, as an Account Clerk
Typist for the School District Department before becoming the Account
Clerk Typist for the City Treasurer Department on December 16, 1991; and
WHEREAS, On January 1, 1993, this extraordinary woman was promoted
to Senior Account Clerk Typist for the City Treasurer Department; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
profession, Denice P. Golden was promoted to Payroll Manager of the City
Treasurer Department on January 27, 2001, the esteemed position from
which she officially retired on May 31, 2021; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Payroll Manager, Denice P. Golden served
with loyalty, honor and distinction, and was governed by a keen sense of
duty, always showing a unique grasp of human problems in her official
acts; and
WHEREAS, For more than three decades, Denice P. Golden rendered
faithful, conscientious and valuable service to the City of Rome,
earning the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate
blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that
demonstrated by Denice P. Golden over a lifetime of sacrifice and
dedication to others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Denice P. Golden upon the occasion of her retirement after
more than 30 years of distinguished service to the City of Rome, New
York, and to wish her well in all her future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Denice P. Golden.
