MOURNING the death of Rodgerick W. Lamb,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of his
community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Rodgerick W. Lamb of Brooklyn, New York, died on April 25,
2021, at the age of 57; and

WHEREAS, Rodgerick Wendell Lamb was born on May 1, 1963, to the late
Mary (Owens) and Willie Lamb in New York City; he attended schools in
Brooklyn from P.S/M.S 320 to Clara Barton High School for Health
Professions; during his high school years, he found religion and was
baptized at Emmanuel Baptist Church by Dr. Whitaker; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Rodgerick W. Lamb
proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from
1981-1987; upon his discharge, he continued as Army Reserve; and

WHEREAS, Rodgerick W. Lamb furthered his education by attending Long
Island University, where he met his future wife Lise Blyden; the couple
were married on July 11, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Rodgerick W. Lamb distinguished himself in his profession
and by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the
welfare of his community; and

WHEREAS, A Jiu Jitsu Black Belt martial artist, Rodgerick W. Lamb
became a Security Guard and trainer; he enjoyed helping people and
became an EMT and attained his CASAC for social work where he liked
working with individuals addicted to drugs; and

WHEREAS, Rodgerick W. Lamb's commitment to excellence, and his
spirit of humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise,
including charitable and civic endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Rodgerick W. Lamb's life was not easy, but his family and
faith sustained and inspired him; he was a faithful member of the church
where he served as a lay speaker and servant, and was involved in
various other leadership aspects of church life and volunteer work; and

WHEREAS, Rodgerick W. Lamb is survived by his wife of 11 years,
Lise; step-son, Marcelo-Antoine; two brothers, Allan and Shawn; one
nephew, La Trell; his children and grandchildren; three cousins, Rowena,
Delphine and Shella, and numerous great uncles, aunts, other cousins,
nieces and friends; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Rodgerick W. Lamb leaves behind a legacy which will long

endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Rodgerick W. Lamb, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Rodgerick W. Lamb.
