MOURNING the death of Renee M. Harris,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of her
community

WHEREAS, It is with feelings of deepest regret that this Legislative
Body mourns the death of Renee M. Harris, an extraordinary woman of
indomitable faith and dedication whose purposeful life will long serve
as a standard to which others might aspire; and

WHEREAS, Renee M. Harris of Brooklyn, New York, was born on May 24,
1966, to Novella Harris; she was affectionately nicknamed, "Peaches" by
her family; and

WHEREAS, This fascinating woman did many things during her
illustrious career; she was a professional model, doing print work for
Essence Magazine; she was also a successful entrepreneur dealing in
women's accessories, such as perfume and her own fine artwork; and

WHEREAS, Renee M. Harris distinguished herself in her profession and
by her sincere dedication and substantial contribution to her community;
and

WHEREAS, A unique individual, this charming woman had the courage to
dress the way she liked, and wear make-up the way she wished; she was
truly comfortable in her own skin; and

WHEREAS, With an infectious laugh, Renee M. Harris expressed her
love and appreciation for her family and friends through kindness,
quality time, and gift-giving; she was seen by many as a funny, caring,
loving, and generous person; and

WHEREAS, A member of Brooklyn Tabernacle, many of Renee M. Harris'
positive attributes were developed through her lifetime devotion to her
church; this early appreciation of praise and worship comes from her
mother, Missionary Novella Harris; and

WHEREAS, Renee M. Harris' legacy is her faith, her courage, her
family, and her art; and

WHEREAS, Renee M. Harris is survived by her two sons, Justin and
Christopher; her mother, Missionary Novella Harris; two sisters,
Stephanie and Kelly; a brother, Michael; three nieces, Taquanna,
Jasmine, and Jada; and a nephew, Terrell; as well as a host of loving
family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Renee M. Harris leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
she served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Renee M. Harris, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of her community; and be it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Renee M. Harris.
