HONORING Bonnie Woods posthumously upon the
occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Joseph R. Carucci Legacy Award by the Genesis Group
on October 14, 2021
WHEREAS, Individuals who gave of their time and energies and served
the best interests of their communities are an asset and cannot be
sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Woods gave not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Bonnie Woods
posthumously upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Joseph R. Carucci Legacy Award by the Genesis Group to be celebrated at
its 20th Anniversary Luncheon on Thursday, October 14, 2021; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award is the Genesis Group's highest honor
and is given each year to individuals who exemplifies Joseph R.
Carucci's commitment to community; the founder of the Genesis Group and
very dedicated to his community, he passed away in 2010 after more than
40 years as a local developer and real estate broker; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Woods, who passed away in April of 2021, lived and
loved life to the fullest, being generous, finding the good in people,
and extracting joy from all things big and small; and
WHEREAS, She was very active in the community, most recently,
serving as Board Chair for MVHS, and Trustee for both Community
Foundation and Upstate Caring Partners Boards; she also participated on
several committees and other volunteer activities; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Woods was especially proud to be one of the founding
members of Mother Marianne's West Side Kitchen; she and her husband were
members of the Cedar Lake Club for over 20 years; and
WHEREAS, This extraordinary woman spent her entire 30-year
professional career at Bank of America, being energized and challenged
by her work, encountering many amazing co-workers and friends along the
way; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Woods earned a professional certification at ABA
Graduate Trust School and was awarded the Accent on Excellence Award in
2009; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Bonnie Woods displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bonnie Woods posthumously upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the Joseph R. Carucci Legacy Award by the Genesis Group;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Bonnie Woods.
