COMMENDING former Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer
for his illustrious service as a dedicated political
leader and strong advocate for the people of the
State of New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those individuals of distinguished purpose whose lives have been
committed to public service and the pursuit of excellence in the conduct
of the legislative process in this noble Empire State; Michael H.
Ranzenhofer is one such individual; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend former Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer for his illustrious
service as a dedicated political leader and strong advocate for the
people of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Prior to serving the State of New York, Michael H.
Ranzenhofer served as an Erie County Legislator from 1989 to 2008; and

WHEREAS, Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer was elected in 2008 to
represent the Western New York residents of the 61st Senate District,
where he served with honor and distinction from 2009 until 2020; and

WHEREAS, In this capacity, Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer was
instrumental in fixing New York's fiscal challenges by cutting spending
and lowering taxes, which created a more favorable business environment,
so the private sector was able to generate more jobs; and

WHEREAS, As Chairman of the Senate Corporations Committee, Senator
Michael H. Ranzenhofer worked with many non-profit organizations and the
New York State Bar Association to pass legislation to overhaul the
State's not-for-profit laws for the first time in over 40 years; and

WHEREAS, Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer has been the recipient of
numerous accolades, including Legislator of the Year Award by the New
York State Magistrates Association, State Legislator Recognition Award
on behalf of the New York State Ophthalmological Society, Business
Advocate of the Year Award by the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, Guardian
of Small Business by the National Federation of Independent Business,
and was named to the New York Farm Bureau's Circle of Friends; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer has been
recognized for his unwavering support of the 2nd Amendment in New York
State by the Genesee County Chapter of S.C.O.P.E.; and

WHEREAS, Michael H. Ranzenhofer resides in Amherst, New York, with
his wife, Sue, and together they are the proud parents of two children;
and

WHEREAS, Every citizen in New York State has most certainly
benefited, in one way or another, from the deep dedication, intelligence

and commitment former Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer brought to his work
as a legislator, loyal friend, and trusted advisor; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to reflect upon
those outstanding individuals who have made everlasting contributions on
behalf of their fellow man and have truly left their mark on this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
recognize and applaud the many accomplishments of former Senator Michael
H. Ranzenhofer, and to wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to former New York State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer.
