COMMEMORATING the 90th Anniversary of the GPO
Federal Credit Union

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the GPO Federal Credit Union; this
milestone was recently celebrated with board members and employees, past
and present; and

WHEREAS, To celebrate this event, GPO Federal Credit Union President
and CEO, Nick Mayhew, delivered a welcoming address for his employees;
it was followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony at GPO's newly remodeled
administration building which is located in New Hartford, New York; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, former GPO Credit Union President and CEO,
John Prumo, having served from 1977 to 2014, was honored with a tribute
during the 90th Anniversary Celebration: the Community Room was
dedicated in his honor; this space will forever be known as the John
Prumo Community Room, and will be a place for GPO members of the
community to gather for financial workshops and events; and

WHEREAS, The GPO Federal Credit Union was established in 1931; it is
headquartered in New Hartford, and has branches in Utica, Oneida, Ilion,
Dolgeville and Barneveld; and

WHEREAS, The exceptional leadership and ability of GPO Federal
Credit Union helps to cultivate a strong member and employee loyalty
which has led to their excellence; these employees are characterized by
an impressive commitment and an unbridled enthusiasm; and

WHEREAS, The success of the GPO Federal Credit Union is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its dedicated workforce who remain
steadfastly committed to improving the financial lives of its more than
33,000 members by offering a full range of financial services and an
uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of this
vital institution and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
institutions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the GPO Federal Credit Union; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to President and CEO Nicholas Mayhew, GPO Federal Credit
Union.
