CONGRATULATING Noreen Scileppi upon the occasion
of being named the South Huntington Union Free
School District Teacher of the Year on January 26,
2022

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals in the teaching profession who distinguish
themselves in their dedication and commitment to their students; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Noreen Scileppi upon the occasion of being named the South
Huntington Teacher of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Noreen Scileppi will be presented with this prestigious
award on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the Walt Whitman High School
Performing Arts Center in Huntington Station, New York; she will also
serve as the school district's nominee for the New York State Teacher of
the Year Award; and

WHEREAS, A speech and language teacher at the Countrywood Primary
Center, Noreen Scileppi sincerely cares about each and every one of her
students; and

WHEREAS, Noreen Scileppi began her illustrious career in education,
spanning over three decades, at BOCES in 1987; in 2000, she took a
position as a speech and language pathologist for the South Huntington
School District; and

WHEREAS, Today, Noreen Scileppi is the lead teacher for the
after-school Friendship Project, a social skills group, and a member of
the District's building BEST team, contributing thoughts and suggestions
to assist teachers in helping their neediest students; and

WHEREAS, For several years, Noreen Scileppi was an active
participant of the SBM team, helping to brainstorm and bring to fruition
several school wide SEL programs for the betterment of the school
community; and

WHEREAS, Educators like Noreen Scileppi provide a tremendous service
to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of young
people in their educational journeys and ensuring their success in their
future years; and

WHEREAS, This dedicated mentor works tirelessly with her students,
and their families, to make sure they are receiving the most they can
from their speech sessions, and she takes pride in celebrating the
progress they make; and

WHEREAS, Noreen Scileppi has clearly had an enduring impact on the
youth of the South Huntington Union Free School District, as well as on
the community-at-large, and accordingly merits recognition and applause
for her impressive dedication to others; and


WHEREAS, Throughout her career thus far, Noreen Scileppi has brought
an uncompromising standard of excellence to her work and a warm sense of
caring and concern to every young person she educates; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Noreen Scileppi upon the occasion of being named the South
Huntington Union Free School District Teacher of the Year; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Noreen Scileppi.
