CONGRATULATING Caden Allen and Trace McGrath, the
Screaming Eagles, upon the occasion of capturing the
Gold Medal in Junior Bobsled, Heavyweight Division,
at the 2022 Empire State Winter Games

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Caden
Allen and Trace McGrath, the Screaming Eagles, upon the occasion of
capturing the Gold Medal in Junior Bobsled, Heavyweight Division, at the
2022 Empire State Winter Games on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the
world-renowned Mt. Van Hovenburg Sliding Center in Lake Placid, New
York; and

WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited family members
and fans, 16-year-old Warrensburg High School students Caden Allen and
Trace McGrath won the race with a .05 differential, reaching speeds up
to 77.23 MPH; and

WHEREAS, For the last two years, Caden Allen and Trace McGrath have
been practicing every Friday with former Olympian and Coach John Napier,
a skilled and inspirational tutor, respected for his ability to develop
potential into excellence; and

WHEREAS, Athletically and academically, Caden Allen and Trace
McGrath have proven themselves to be an unbeatable combination of
talents, reflecting favorably on their school and community; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Caden Allen and Trace McGrath, the Screaming Eagles, upon
the occasion of capturing the Gold Medal in Junior Bobsled, Heavyweight
Division, at the 2022 Empire State Winter Games; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Caden Allen, Trace McGrath, and Coach John Napier.
