COMMENDING Team Jamaica Bickle, Inc. upon the
occasion of hosting its Labor of Love Luncheon on
April 24, 2022

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Team Jamaica Bickle, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its Labor
of Love Luncheon on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Crest Hollow Country Club
in Woodbury, New York; and

WHEREAS, Since 1999, Team Jamaica Bickle, the leading organization
in sports, has been providing hospitality services for Caribbean
athletes who compete at the annual Penn Relays Carnival, held at the
University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia; and

WHEREAS, The Penn Relays is the longest uninterrupted collegiate
track meet athletic event in the United States and is the largest meet,
outside of the Olympics, attracting over 22,000 athletes primarily from
the northeast United States and the Caribbean; and

WHEREAS, A not-for-profit organization based in New York State, Team
Jamaica Bickle has played an active role in the development and care of
the athletes through its Hospitality Initiative; and

WHEREAS, Through Team Jamaica Bickle's efforts, more athletes are
able to travel to these relays, thanks to the sponsorship provided,
which reduces the cost to both the families and schools; this vital
organization also provides assistance to various Diaspora organizations;
and

WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of its founder and CEO Irwine G.
Clare, Sr., Team Jamaica Bickle truly embodies its motto, Our Athletes,
Our Ambassadors; its services extend to a delegation of approximately
650 students and coaches from Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint
Vincent and the Grenadines, and Grenada Bahamas; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, in past years, Team Jamaica Bickle has
welcomed and extended its services to delegations of students and
coaches from the United States Virgin Islands, Belize, and Barbados; and

WHEREAS, The success of Team Jamaica Bickle is in direct correlation
to the efforts of its dedicated volunteers and sponsors, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the
community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Team Jamaica Bickle, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its Labor
of Love Luncheon on April 24, 2022; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Irwine G. Clare, Sr., Founder and CEO, Team Jamaica
Bickle, Inc.
