CONGRATULATING Louis D. LaPolla upon the occasion
of his retirement after more than 60 years of
dedicated service to the City of Utica, New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens of this great Empire State who have
devoted themselves to faithfully serving the best interests of their
community and the needs of its residents; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Louis D. LaPolla upon the occasion of his retirement after
more than 60 years of dedicated service to the City of Utica, New York;
and

WHEREAS, This auspicious milestone will be celebrated at a Roast and
Toast on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Hart's Hill Inn in Whitesboro, New
York; and

WHEREAS, For more than six decades, Louis D. LaPolla's name has been
associated with public service, benefiting the City of Utica in numerous
capacities such as mayor for 12 years, teacher for 17 years, councilman
for 10 years, MHA Executive Director for five years, and a long-time
member of both the Utica School Board and the Utica Library Board of
Trustees; and

WHEREAS, For his steadfast and unremitting commitment to the
residents of Utica, Louis D. LaPolla was the recipient of numerous
awards and accolades including the Genesis Distinguished Service Award,
Notre Dame HS Achievement Award, Utica College Achievement Award, and
the Utica School Board Achievement Award; and

WHEREAS, In addition, the LaPolla Business Park was named in honor
of Louis D. LaPolla's many good deeds and tireless efforts making Utica
a better place to live, work and play; and

WHEREAS, In his capacity as a public servant, Louis D. LaPolla
served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and

WHEREAS, In his official acts, Louis D. LaPolla was governed by a
keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Louis D. LaPolla upon the occasion of his retirement after
more than 60 years of dedicated service to the City of Utica, New York,
and to wish him continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it
further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Louis D. LaPolla.
