COMMEMORATING the 80th Anniversary of The Guidance
Center of Westchester
WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations devoted to improving the
quality of life for others, enabling them to build lives of dignity and
self-worth are deserving of the highest praise and recognition; and
WHEREAS, From time to time, society calls upon these individuals and
organizations to be recognized for the significance of their
contributions and efforts to assist others in developing the skills
necessary to be successful, productive citizens; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the
80th Anniversary of The Guidance Center of Westchester to be celebrated
at its Annual Gala on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Glen Island Harbour Club,
New Rochelle, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Guidance Center of Westchester offers essential and
lasting support to those in its communities challenged by mental
illness, substance abuse, poverty, and homelessness; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of its President and Chief
Executive Officer Ron Colavito, this vital organization empowers its
participants to become active members of the community through
education, treatment, housing, rehabilitative, and vocational services;
and
WHEREAS, Remaining true to its mission, The Guidance Center of
Westchester improves the well-being of people of all ages through its
innovative and effective programs which enable everyone to learn, work,
and thrive; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 80-year history, The Guidance Center
of Westchester has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of The Guidance Center of Westchester is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its dedicated Executive Leadership
Team and Board of Directors, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the organization and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to The Guidance Center of
Westchester; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 80th Anniversary of The Guidance Center of Westchester;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ron Colavito, President and Chief Executive Officer, The
Guidance Center of Westchester.
