COMMENDING Diane K. and Richard A. Wojtowicz upon
the occasion of their designation for special
recognition by the Amherst Womens Interclub Council
on May 7, 2022
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to call attention
to the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of
New York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the
community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Diane K. and Richard A. Wojtowicz upon the occasion of their
designation for special recognition by the Amherst Womens Interclub
Council, to be celebrated at its Annual Kentucky Derby Luncheon on
Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village in
Amherst, New York; and
WHEREAS, During this auspicious occasion, these outstanding
volunteers will be recognized for their steadfast and outstanding
commitment to their community; and
WHEREAS, Since they built their home in Williamsville, New York,
almost 50 years ago, Diane K. and Richard A. Wojtowicz have invested
thousands of hours volunteering their time in several local
organizations improving and strengthening the overall reasons the Town
of Amherst maintains a reputation for its quality of life; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from Canisius College, Richard A.
Wojtowicz began his long and distinguished career in banking while
completing coursework through the American Banking Institute; today, he
holds the title of Director of Corporate Relations for Mainstream
Funding Systems, a Williamsville-based mortgage brokerage firm; and
WHEREAS, A former Councilman for the Town of Amherst, Richard A.
Wojtowicz served as the Board's liaison to the Recreation Department,
the Youth Board, the library, and the Government Studies Committee; he
also provided support as a consultant to Junior Achievement, a
non-profit youth organization; and
WHEREAS, Diane K. Wojtowicz earned her degree in business from
Bryant & Stratton College, and currently serves as an Executive
Secretary for the Chief Executive Officer of Mainstream Funding Systems;
and
WHEREAS, Diane K. Wojtowicz can always be counted on to lend a
helping hand wherever she is needed, volunteering for the Amherst Youth
Foundation, the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village, the Rotary Annual
Classic Car Show, and the Amherst Symphony Orchestra in their
fundraisers and other activities; and
WHEREAS, Both Diane K. and Richard A. Wojtowicz are actively
involved with the Buffalo-Niagara Heritage Village Board, serving as a
Trustee and on the Advisory Council, and active members on the Amherst
Symphony Orchestra Board, where Richard is the Vice President and Diane
serves on the Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, The couple are also members of the Amherst Youth Foundation
Board, with Richard A. Wojtowicz holding the position of Secretary,
while Diane K. Wojtowicz serves as its Vice President; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Diane K. and Richard A. Wojtowicz are active
members of Rotary International, a worldwide service organization;
Richard is the President of the Rotary Club of Williamsville, and Diane
is the Assistant Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, For their tireless efforts in making Williamsville a better
place to live, work, and play, both Diane K. and Richard A. Wojtowicz
have been recipient of numerous awards and accolades; Diane received
Rotary's Unsung Hero and Richard was named Rotarian of the Year and
Businessman of the Year by the General Pulaski Association of Western
New York, and received many Paul Harris Awards; and
WHEREAS, When they are not working or helping someone, Diane K. and
Richard A. Wojtowicz enjoy classic cars, and have won several awards for
their prized Lincoln Continental Coupe; Richard also plays drums for
many Western New York bands; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefits of others which Diane K. and Richard A.
Wojtowicz have displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Diane K. and Richard A. Wojtowicz upon the occasion of their
designation for special recognition by the Amherst Womens Interclub
Council; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Diane K. and Richard A. Wojtowicz.
