HONORING Eric Rechtschaffen upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Blumberg Family
Young Leadership Award by the Jewish Community
Relations Council of New York

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals and organizations it wishes to
recognize for their valued contributions to the success and progress of
society and publicly acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the
basic humanity among us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Eric
Rechtschaffen upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Blumberg Family Young Leadership Award by the Jewish Community Relations
Council of New York, to be celebrated at its Annual Spring Gala on
Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at The Plaza, in New York City; and

WHEREAS, Eric Rechtschaffen is truly proud to be a part of the
Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC) which diligently
works to build relationships within the Jewish community and with New
Yorkers of all backgrounds and faiths to advance the values, interests,
and security of the Jewish community and to create a more interconnected
New York for all; and

WHEREAS, Eric Rechtschaffen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in
Diplomatic History from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of
Business Administration degree in Real Estate and Finance from The
Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Eric Rechtschaffen has been dedicated
to making his Jewish community a better place to live, work, and play;
and

WHEREAS, In college, Eric Rechtschaffen was active in several groups
at the Penn Hillel and was Treasurer of PennPAC, the campus pro-Israel
group; and

WHEREAS, Currently, Eric Rechtschaffen serves on the Board of
Directors of JCRC-NY and as the representative of the Jewish Council for
Public Affairs to the Conference of Presidents Young Leaders Division;
and

WHEREAS, In addition to his work with these vital organizations,
Eric Rechtschaffen holds the title of Managing Director and Head of
Valuations at Sculptor Capital Management; in this capacity, he oversees
all aspects of the valuation process for all of Sculptor's investments;
and

WHEREAS, Prior to joining Sculptor Capital Management, Eric
Rechtschaffen was an Associate in the Real Estate Investment Banking
group at Barclays, and held positions at UBS, Merrill Lynch and
BlackRock; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Kim Rechtschaffen,
and their two children, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his
life and rejoice in his achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefits of others which Eric Rechtschaffen has
displayed throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Eric Rechtschaffen upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Blumberg Family Young Leadership Award by the Jewish
Community Relations Council of New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Eric Rechtschaffen.
