HONORING Reverend Percy J. Perdue Sr. for his many
years of committed service to the Emerald Chapter
No. 81 P.H.O.E.S

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose civic endeavors have served to
enhance the quality of life in their communities and whose contributions
have enriched the institutions of which they are affiliated in the Great
State of New York; and

WHEREAS, In accordance with such sentiments, this Legislative Body
is justly proud to honor Reverend Percy J. Perdue Sr. in recognition of
his many years of commitment to the Emerald Chapter No. 81 P.H.O.E.S;
and

WHEREAS, Steadfast in his devotion, Reverend Percy J. Perdue Sr. was
ordained by God and thus received his Certificates of Ordination and
license to preach on December 6, 1981 and April 18, 1993; and

WHEREAS, From 1993-1996, he served as an Assistant Pastor at
Colossian Baptist Church, located in Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Devoted to his education, Reverend Percy J. Perdue Sr.
enrolled at Pace University full time and completed his studies in
Information Management Systems; he resumed his studies in 2003 at the
Trinity College of Bible and Theological Seminary, where he partook in a
BA candidacy in Biblical Studies with a concentration in Theology; and

WHEREAS, After becoming a certified Field Operative of the New York
State Chaplain Task Force, and upon the recommendation of the
Directorate and Board of Trustees, Reverend Percy J. Perdue Sr. was
bestowed the Ministerial Title of Chaplain on August 3, 2013; and

WHEREAS, His masonic affiliations include Past Master and Life
Member of Hiram Lodge No. 23, Past Illustrious Potentate of Abu Bekr
Temple No. 91, Financial Secretary of The Most Worshipful Prince Hall
Grand Lodge of New York, and on May 25, 2014, he was elevated to the
Last Degree of Freemasonry of the United Supreme Council of the Most
Worshipful Prince Hall Affiliated Family of Masons; and

WHEREAS, Rare is the feat of any individual to demonstrate such
strong devotion in their faith and to leave an indelible mark on all
institutions he partakes in, yet Reverend Percy J. Perdue Sr. has done
just that, as demonstrated through his vast life accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Reverend Percy J. Perdue Sr., so that future generation may know and
appreciate his admirable character and express devotion; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Reverend Percy J. Perdue Sr. in recognition of his many years of
commitment to the Emerald Chapter No. 81 P.H.O.E.S; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Reverend Percy J. Perdue Sr.
