COMMENDING Charlotte Balsam upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the
Schechter School of Long Island on June 15, 2022

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals within the State of New York who give of
their time and energies in support of spiritual endeavors which aim to
benefit the community at large; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Charlotte Balsam upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the Schechter School of Long Island to be
celebrated at its Annual Gala on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the
Shelter Rock Jewish Center in Roslyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, The theme for this year's event is "Woman of Valor - Her
Worth Is Far Beyond That Of Gems," which will shine a light on the
excellence in the curriculum offered at Schechter School of Long Island
(SSLI), the community that makes up its Schechter family, and the Jewish
values instilled in its students every day; and

WHEREAS, SSLI is a Jewish day school whose dual curriculum of
excellence educates and empowers its students to be critical thinkers,
ethical leaders, and globally engaged citizens, striving to achieve
their full potential and ensuring a vibrant Jewish future; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte Balsam is being recognized for her steadfast and
unremitting commitment to SSLI and the Jewish community as a whole; and

WHEREAS, A widely respected business leader, Charlotte Balsam
currently serves as a member of the SSLI Board of Directors; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Charlotte Balsam has
displayed throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Charlotte Balsam upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the Schechter School of Long Island on June 15,
2022; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Charlotte Balsam.
