MOURNING the untimely death of Sean Patrick
Carroll, dedicated firefighter, distinguished
citizen and devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework served to enhance the
quality of life in their communities and the great State of New York;
and

WHEREAS, Sean P. Carroll of Thornwood, New York, tragically died in
a fire in his family's home on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at the age
of 26; and

WHEREAS, Born on August 22, 1995, Sean P. Carroll was a caring young
man who came from a family of public servants; following in their
footsteps, he was a member of the Thornwood Fire Department for eight
years and served as its recording secretary; and

WHEREAS, Sean P. Carroll genuinely loved being a firefighter, and
lived each and every day to the fullest; when he was not helping
someone, he enjoyed spending time with his treasured family who will
long cherish his memory; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his meritorious life, Sean P. Carroll touched
many through his kindness and commitment to service, and, as we recall
the loss of this great man, we memorialize his remarkable life and the
enormous impact he had on everyone with whom he came in contact; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to convey its
grateful appreciation and heartfelt regret in recognition of a
courageous firefighter who dedicated his purposeful life and career in
faithful service to his family and community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
pay tribute to the life and valiant service of Sean P. Carroll; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Firefighter Sean P. Carroll.
