COMMEMORATING the 25th Anniversary of Mohawk
Valley Retina on June 15, 2022

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations of distinction whose singular purpose is the care and
welfare of others; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Mohawk Valley Retina to be
celebrated with an Open House on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in New
Hartford, New York; and

WHEREAS, Mohawk Valley Retina (MVR) was founded in 1997 by Dr.
Steven Williams to provide previously unavailable vitreoretinal services
to his hometown community; five years later, Dr. Joseph Gale, also a
Central New York native, joined the practice, followed by Dr. Amir
Yazdanyar, formerly the Director of Retina Service at Upstate Medical
Center in Syracuse; and

WHEREAS, The doctors at Mohawk Valley Retina have expertise in
evaluating and treating complex eye diseases including, vitreo-retinal
disorders, glaucoma, uveitis, optic nerve disease, trauma, infection and
ocular oncology; and

WHEREAS, Remaining true to its mission, Mohawk Valley Retina
continues to provide the highest quality care for complex eye disease by
equipping its offices with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic
equipment; and

WHEREAS, With highly trained and patient focused staff, Mohawk
Valley Retina physicians are all board certified and have completed
advanced subspecialty training; and

WHEREAS, In addition to medical and surgical vitreoretinal care,
Mohawk Valley Retina is proud to provide neuro-ophthalmology and uveitis
subspecialty services; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 25-year history, Mohawk Valley
Retina has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of Mohawk Valley Retina is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its dedicated staff and physicians, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the
community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Mohawk Valley Retina;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and institutions of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Mohawk Valley Retina on June 15,
2022; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mohawk Valley Retina.
