commending the Tuskegee National Alumni
Association, Long Island Branch upon the occasion of
hosting the 20th Biennial Convention from August
12-14, 2022

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who devote themselves to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Tuskegee National Alumni Association, Long Island Branch
upon the occasion of hosting the 20th Biennial Convention, to be held
virtually from August 12-14, 2022; and

WHEREAS, The purpose of the 20th Biennial Convention of the Tuskegee
National Alumni Association is for dedicated alumni and friends to
engage in sessions designed to increase their capacity to support
Tuskegee University, alumni and students and to establish an agenda for
the future; and

WHEREAS, This year's theme, "Conquering Challenges to Maintain our
Legacy," perfectly encapsulates this goal; and

WHEREAS, The association was formed to promote the ideals of
Tuskegee University and its illustrious founder, Booker T. Washington;
encourage and assist students, graduates, and former students towards
higher development of character and service to mankind; and to foster
unity of purposes through an organized structure of regional
organizations, state councils, and local clubs; and

WHEREAS, This vital organization also provides financial support to
the University, and offers scholarships, youth programs and many other
initiatives which are involved with community engagement; and

WHEREAS, Founded on July 6, 1947, the Long Island Branch proudly
adheres to the Tuskegee National Alumni Association's ideals and through
its support of the University, it has truly made a difference in
innumerable lives; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Tuskegee National Alumni Association,
Long Island Branch is in direct correlation to the efforts of its
members, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the institution and
the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Tuskegee National Alumni Association, Long Island Branch
upon the occasion of hosting the 20th Biennial National Convention; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Tuskegee National Alumni Association, Long Island
Branch.
