CONGRATULATING the Buffalo Bills Football Team
upon the occasion of capturing the AFC East Division
Title on December 19, 2020

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those exemplary athletes and organizations that excel in professional
athletics, distinguishing themselves through notable achievements and
representing the great Empire State with pride and determination; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate the Buffalo Bills upon the occasion of capturing their
first AFC East Division Title in 25 years; and

WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited fans, the Bills
clinched the title after defeating the Denver Broncos in a decisive
48-19 victory at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado, on
Saturday, December 19, 2020; and

WHEREAS, The Bills went on to win two playoff games and made it to
the AFC Championship game; and

WHEREAS, Proudly donning the team's colors of red, white and blue,
family members, friends, and the community at large loyally and
enthusiastically supported the Bills throughout their journey as they
ended their regular season with an impressive 13-3 overall record; and

WHEREAS, The AFC East Division Title and exemplary season truly
encouraged and inspired the Bills' enthusiastic fans in the midst of a
global pandemic during which the Buffalo community has suffered great
loss and hardship; and

WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by the Buffalo Bills Football
Team is due in great part to the efforts of Head Coach Sean McDermott
and his coaching staff, skilled and inspirational mentors, respected for
their ability to develop potential into excellence; and

WHEREAS, The hallmarks of the Buffalo Bills Football Team, from the
opening game of the season to their outstanding win in the AFC
divisional playoff game, were a brotherhood of athletic ability, of good
sportsmanship, and of honor, demonstrating that these team players are
second to none; and

WHEREAS, Sports competitions instill the values of teamwork, pride
and accomplishment; Head Coach Sean McDermott and the Buffalo Bills
Football Team's outstanding athletes have clearly made a contribution to
the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their organization;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Buffalo Bills Football Team upon the occasion of
capturing the AFC East Division Title on December 19, 2020; and be it
further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Buffalo Bills.
