CONGRATULATING Summer Levinsky upon the occasion
of being the first female in Suffolk County to
receive the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the
most prestigious of Scouting honors

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend
individuals of outstanding character, who have shown initiative and
commitment toward constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves, and
acting as role models of leadership to be emulated by their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Summer Levinsky upon the occasion of being the first female
in Suffolk County to receive the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the
most prestigious of Scouting honors; and

WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and

WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and

WHEREAS, Summer Levinsky is a trailblazer and serves as a role model
for girls across her community who are seeking to break boundaries and
achieve their dreams; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Huntington Station, New York, Summer Levinsky
has always wanted to be a Scout like her older brothers; on her 14th
birthday, she founded and served as President of Venturing Crew 821, and
in 2019, she founded and was the first Senior Patrol Leader of Troop
218G (Girls); and

WHEREAS, For her project, Summer Levinsky renovated the Dance Studio
at Walt Whitman High School; she replaced the dressing room counters,
installed new larger mirrors, updated the lighting, painted the entire
area and added motivational quotes to inspire her fellow performers; and

WHEREAS, Currently a freshman at SUNY Oneonta, Summer Levinsky is
still actively involved in Scouting BSA as an Assistant Scoutmaster,
providing support and guidance to the younger scouts, and is proud of
the training programs she has been a part of such as National Youth
Leadership Training, Wood Badge, and Outdoor Ethics; and

WHEREAS, Her perseverance in rising through the ranks to Eagle Scout
is a strong indication of her ability to master difficult tasks; her
accomplishment will enable her to emerge as a leader, fully equipped to
meet the challenges of today's complex society; and

WHEREAS, Summer Levinsky's latest achievement marks a milestone for
girls and women in the communities all across the State, and truly
embodies what it means to shatter the glass ceiling; now, therefore, be
it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Summer Levinsky on being the first female in
Suffolk County to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Summer Levinsky.
