COMMENDING Supervisor David Anderson upon the
occasion of his retirement after 19 years of
distinguished service to the Town of Mexico
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge outstanding individuals within our midst who
have made significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, A great community is only as great as those persons and
organizations that provide exemplary service, whether through good
citizenship or through public service and leadership in their community;
and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Supervisor
David Anderson upon the occasion of his retirement after many years of
distinguished service to the Town of Mexico, where he has served as the
chief elected official and chair of the town board; he will officially
retire at the close of 2020; and
WHEREAS, During his 19-year career in public service, David Anderson
focused on bringing both the people of the community together, and the
members of the Town Board, in an effort to make a difference in the
lives of the residents of the Town of Mexico; and
WHEREAS, As Supervisor, David Anderson collaborated with others to
provide municipal water service to the community, saved the Town Hall,
fixed the clock tower, maintained a low tax rate, and started a capital
reserve fund for future projects; and
WHEREAS, In addition, he worked with the Town Board and dedicated
Mexico residents to stabilize the Mexico Point Park shoreline, upgrade
the Little League Fields, and more; and
WHEREAS, Through these projects and countless others, Supervisor
David Anderson helped to make the Town of Mexico a place where families
want to live and businesses want to locate; and
WHEREAS, As the Town of Mexico's Chief Executive, David Anderson has
set an example of service for other town supervisors across New York
State; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, David Anderson served his
constituents fairly and honestly, always doing what was in the best
interest of those he represented; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Supervisor David Anderson upon the occasion of his retirement
after 19 years of distinguished service to the Town of Mexico, and to
wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Supervisor David Anderson.
