CONGRATULATING Carolina Guardado upon the occasion
of being inducted into the 28th Annual May W.
Newburger Women's Roll of Honor by the Town of North
Hempstead, in conjunction with the observance of
Women's History Month
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those women of achievement within this great Empire State
who have made strong contributions to their communities and who inspire
others through their model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Carolina Guardado upon the occasion of being inducted into
the 28th Annual May W. Newburger Women's Roll of Honor by the Town of
North Hempstead, in conjunction with the observance of Women's History
Month; and
WHEREAS, Since 1994, the Town of North Hempstead has honored women
who have made a contribution to their community, or have accomplished a
significant achievement through public or private efforts; Carolina
Guardado is one such woman; and
WHEREAS, Born in El Salvador, Carolina Guardado migrated to the
United States in 1994, and settled in Westbury, Long Island, where she
attended local schools; she quickly became part of her community, as an
active member of St. Brigid's Church; and
WHEREAS, While raising her three children, Carolina Guardado was
instrumental in creating the Westbury Youth Soccer program, which has
evolved from 20 participants at the end of 2014, to over 70 participants
this season; the program has earned several division championships and
is currently a member of the Long Island Junior Soccer League, the
largest youth soccer organization in the United States; and
WHEREAS, Today, in addition to her role as Vice President with
JPMorgan Chase in the Auto Finance Division, Carolina Guardado continues
to serve her community as a member of the Hispanic United Association of
Westbury, which has been instrumental in ensuring all residents of the
community receive pertinent resources; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Carolina Guardado upon the occasion of being inducted into
the 28th Annual May W. Newburger Women's Roll of Honor by the Town of
North Hempstead, in conjunction with the observance of Women's History
Month; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Carolina Guardado.
