COMMEMORATING the 75th Anniversary of the New York
Beef Producers' Association

WHEREAS, The agricultural industry is part of the foundation upon
which our distinct American heritage is built; and

WHEREAS, New York State, along with the rest of the United States,
is dependent on our agricultural industry for a variety of food
products; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to support and
promote the historic and significant observance of those agricultural
organizations which enrich this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the New York Beef Producers'
Association; and

WHEREAS, The New York Beef Producers' Association (NYBPA) is a group
of beef producers dedicated to working together for the improvement of
the beef industry; and

WHEREAS, Formed in 1947, and officially incorporated on October 26,
1949, as the N.Y.S. Beef Cattle Breeders and Feeders Improvement
Project; and

WHEREAS, On May 2, 1962, it was renamed the New York Beef
Cattlemen's Association, and on July 9, 2002, they received their
certificate to officially change their name to the New York Beef
Producers' Association; and

WHEREAS, Today, under the able leadership of Executive Council
President Ted Cardomote, the NYBPA remains true to its mission by
encouraging friendly exchanges of ideas among members; promote and
protect the interest of beef producers in New York State; aid members in
the purchase, sale and breeding of quality cattle; cooperate with
Cornell Cooperative Extension, NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets
and other agencies; encourage youth participation in the beef industry;
promote beef to consumers and create a positive image of the beef
industry to the general population; work with lawmakers and the Empire
State Council of Agricultural Organizations to create policy that
benefits agriculture in general and the beef industry specifically; and
affiliate with the National Cattlemen's Beef Association to effect
policy decisions and promote the industry on a national level; and

WHEREAS, The success of the NYBPA is in direct correlation to the
efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the institution and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
applaud the leaders of commerce and industry whose accomplishments
contribute to the economic health and prosperity of the communities of
the State of New York and to the quality of life of its people; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the New York Beef Producers'
Association; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ted Cardomote, Executive Council President, New York Beef
Producers' Association.
