COMMENDING outgoing President Wendy Marie
Weathers, Esq. upon the occasion of her designation
for special recognition by the Westchester County
Bar Association

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those civic-minded individuals who dedicate their lives and
careers to the service of others; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend outgoing
President Wendy Marie Weathers, Esq., upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Westchester County Bar
Association; and

WHEREAS, Established on February 11, 1896, the Westchester County
Bar Association, located in White Plains, New York, is a not-for-profit
corporation with a voluntary membership of approximately 2,000 lawyers;
and

WHEREAS, Its stated mission is to promote the system of justice,
improve the accessibility of the legal system to the public, increase
the standards by which attorneys practice, and promote a sense of
community among its members; and

WHEREAS, Wendy Marie Weathers earned her Bachelor of Arts degree
from SUNY Stony Brook in Political Science in 1993; she went on to
graduate from City University of New York Law School at Queens College,
where she received her J.D. in 1996; and

WHEREAS, Admitted to practice law in New York since 1997, Wendy
Marie Weathers is also admitted to all four federal and bankruptcy
districts in New York, as well as the federal district of Connecticut;
and

WHEREAS, For more than two decades, Wendy Marie Weathers has
represented both institutional lenders and borrowers in all aspects of
the mortgage banking industry and residential foreclosures; and

WHEREAS, With her vast knowledge and experience as a bank attorney
prosecuting foreclosure, Wendy Marie Weathers understands banks
strategies and thinks outside the box for creative solutions; her
clients value her transparency as she guides them through the legal
process while educating them about their options and reducing their
anxiety of the unknown; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering dedication to her clients,
profession and the community-at-large, Wendy Marie Weathers has been the
proud recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including the New York
State Bar Association's 2016 President's Pro Bono Service Award for the
9th Judicial District; and

WHEREAS, Deeply involved in several professional organizations,
Wendy Marie Weathers currently serves as President of the Westchester
County Bar Association (WCBA), Co-chair of the Bankruptcy Committee and
a Co-chair of the Practice Management Committee of the Westchester
Women's Bar Association (WWBA), as well as a Board Member and active
member of the Hudson Valley Bankruptcy Bar Association (HVBBA); and

WHEREAS, Wendy Marie Weathers is a compassionate, practical and
unwavering advocate for her clients, guiding them in a way that is
no-nonsense and down to earth; furthermore, she truly listens to her
clients' wants and empathizes with their financial concerns; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend outgoing President Wendy Marie Weathers, Esq., upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition by the Westchester County Bar
Association; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Wendy Marie Weathers.
