MOURNING the death of Keri Stromski, beloved
teacher, distinguished citizen and devoted member of
her community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and this
great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Keri Stromski of Jamesport, New York, died on Tuesday,
April 6, 2021, at the age of 48; and

WHEREAS, A Kindergarten teacher at Aqueboque Elementary School in
Riverhead, New York, Keri Stromski distinguished herself in her
profession and by her sincere dedication and substantial contribution to
the welfare of her community; and

WHEREAS, Keri Stromski was truly dedicated to her role as an
educator and always remained a powerful presence for her students during
the COVID-19 pandemic; she readily and enthusiastically took on the
challenge of virtual learning and to her delight, formed strong bonds
with not only her students, but their family members as well; and

WHEREAS, In 2016, Keri Stromski was unfortunately diagnosed with
cancer; strengthened by her deep faith and never-ending support of her
family and many friends, she always remained positive, recording Tik Tok
videos during chemotherapy sessions and maintaining her "Faith Over
Fear" blog chronicling her experience and inspiring others while raising
funds for cancer research and awareness; through her tireless efforts,
she raised $22,000; and

WHEREAS, Deeply cherished by her students, staff and
community-at-large, Keri Stromski dedicated her life to nurturing our
most precious resource, our youth; throughout her tenure at Aqueboque
Elementary School, she made incomparable contributions to empowering and
improving the well-being of all of her students; and

WHEREAS, Keri Stromski is survived by her loving husband, Robert,
and their treasured three children, Morgan, Madison and Quinn; and

WHEREAS, Armed with an indefatigable spirit and imbued with a sense
of compassion, Keri Stromski leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
she taught, served and befriended; she will be remembered for her
devotion to the teaching profession and will be truly missed by many;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Keri Stromski, and to express its deepest condolences
to her family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Keri Stromski.
