PAYING tribute to Price Chopper/Market 32 for its
successful Hiring AdvantEdge Program

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
businesses and individuals who are devoted to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to pay
tribute to Price Chopper/Market 32 for its successful Hiring AdvantEdge
Program; and

WHEREAS, On November 9, 2016, Price Chopper Supermarkets together
with ACCES-VR of New York State and Our Ability Alliance held an open
workshop for employment for individuals with disabilities in the Greater
Capital Region of New York; and

WHEREAS, Price Chopper brought in human resource leaders and talent
acquisitions to discuss resume writing, building interview skills,
identifying proper job skills and navigating applications; and

WHEREAS, During the day, there was an in-depth tour of Price
Chopper's Market Bistro in Latham, New York; in attendance, there were
25 individuals with disabilities looking for employment from multiple
disability advocacy organizations in New York State; and

WHEREAS, Price Chopper/Market 32 has always been committed to
supporting people with disabilities; this vital business has enjoyed its
valuable partnership with ACCES-VR which led to the success of its
Hiring AdvantEdge mentoring events; and

WHEREAS, These events are held for people with disabilities who are
ready to pursue their first job or internship; this exciting program has
garnered a lot of attention and has helped many individuals find
employment; and

WHEREAS, Through their partnership with ACCES-VR, Price
Chopper/Market 32 makes a difference by understanding people with
disabilities bring another dimension to the employee population by
enriching the workforce and inspiring other employees; and

WHEREAS, Price Chopper/Market 32 truly believes products and
services do not ensure their success, their employees do; and

WHEREAS, Price Chopper/Market 32 is proud to employ deli managers,
graphic designers, truck drivers, cashiers, marketing gurus, meat
cutters, lawyers, selectors, engineers and more, each bringing their
individual talents and experience to the table; and

WHEREAS, Free thinking and lively exchanges of ideas are encouraged
which makes Price Chopper/Market 32 a successful, more cohesive and
solid company; and

WHEREAS, Price Chopper/Market 32 procures the best quality products
and takes pride in their world class service but none of that would make
a difference without the people who deliver it; and

WHEREAS, A well-respected cornerstone in its community, Price
Chopper/Market 32 remains true to its mission to exist to help people
feed and care for themselves and their families; as an innovative
retailer of products and services, this revered organization recognizes
that consistently satisfying all customers is key to their success; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
pay tribute to Price Chopper/Market 32 for its successful Hiring
AdvantEdge Program; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Price Chopper/Market 32.
