MEMORIALIZING Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim
Wednesday, May 4, 2022, as New York State Assembly
Legislative Disabilities Awareness Day

WHEREAS, The New York State Assembly Committee on People with
Disabilities is sponsoring the Assembly's Legislative Disabilities
Awareness Day; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that persons with
disabilities, their families and advocates deserve our recognition as
they realize the goals of integration, independence and equality in our
communities and society at large; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize
persons with disabilities, focusing on the benefits of their social,
economic, educational and other contributions to society; and

WHEREAS, Legislative Disabilities Awareness Day will consist of this
Legislative Body considering a package of legislation significant to
people with disabilities, which is reflective of concerns of the
disability community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
memorialize Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim Wednesday, May 4, 2022, as
New York State Assembly Legislative Disabilities Awareness Day; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Honorable Kathy Hochul, Governor of the State of New
York; and to selected representatives of people with disabilities.
