CONGRATULATING the members of the William Floyd
High School Future Business Leaders of America upon
the occasion of winning 14 Awards at the New York
State Future Business Leaders of America 2022
Leadership Conference

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
tribute to those who, by achieving outstanding success in their
educational endeavors and competitions, have inspired and brought pride
to our majestic Empire State; and

WHEREAS, It is also the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize
the dedication and commitment of our young people who distinguish
themselves through excellence in scholastic competition; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate the members of the William Floyd High School Future
Business Leaders of America upon the occasion of winning 14 Awards at
the New York State Future Business Leaders of America 2022 Leadership
Conference; and

WHEREAS, The William Floyd High School Future Business Leaders of
America (FBLA) had a great showing at the New York State Spring
Conference in Rochester, New York, securing numerous top-five finishes;
and

WHEREAS, These extraordinary students participated in workshops and
networked with other students from across the State of New York,
resulting in William Floyd FBLA taking home 14 Awards, making them the
top competitors in the State; and

WHEREAS, As a result of this amazing performance, William Floyd FBLA
now qualifies to compete at the national competition in Chicago,
Illinois in June; and

WHEREAS, William Floyd's Parliamentary Procedure team consisting of
Ian Hua, Angela Cheng, Adam Schultzer, Joshua Schultzer and Anab Khan
placed second in all of New York State; and

WHEREAS, Additionally, Rachel Oriuwa, Thomas Francis and Mikayla
Zeldin were only three of 23 students statewide to be inducted into New
York State's FBLA Honor Society, and, Mikayla Zeldin campaigned and won
election for the NYS District 1S Vice President; and

WHEREAS, William Floyd High School Future Business Leaders of
America New York State Competition Top Five Finishers include: First
Place, Rachel Oriuwa and Angela Cheng, Public Service Announcement;
Second Place, Adam Schultzer, Computer Problem Solving; Angela Cheng,
Marketing; Third Place, Thomas Francis, Client Services; Adam Schultzer,
Economics; Joshua Schultzer, Introduction to Business Communications;
Ian Hua, Parliamentary Procedure Individual; Fourth Place, Ian Hua,
Economics; Thomas Francis, Healthcare Administration; Rachel Oriuwa and

Cavelle Simpson, Sales Presentation; and Fifth Place, Ian Hua, Impromptu
Speaking; Thomas Francis, Organizational Leadership; and Rachel Oriuwa,
Future Business Leader; and

WHEREAS, The team's Advisor, Kristin Puric, has done a superb job in
guiding, molding and inspiring the team members toward their goals; and

WHEREAS, The members of the William Floyd High School Future
Business Leaders of America are loyally and enthusiastically supported
by their school, family, friends and the community at large; and

WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose,
these students now stand honorably, with just pride in their
accomplishments and in eager anticipation of future challenges,
understanding and appreciating the caring counsel and support provided
by their teachers, coaches and parents; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the William Floyd High School Future
Business Leaders of America upon the occasion of winning 14 Awards at
the New York State Future Business Leaders of America 2022 Leadership
Conference; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the William Floyd High School Future
Business Leaders of America; and Advisor Kristin Puric.
