CONGRATULATING Dr. Kent Hall upon the occasion of
his retirement after many years of distinguished
service as Chief Physician Executive at Mohawk
Valley Health System's Wynn Hospital

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those
individuals whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of others;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Dr. Kent Hall upon the occasion of his retirement after
many years of distinguished service as Chief Physician Executive at
Mohawk Valley Health System's Wynn Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Kent Hall, MD, who has been practicing medicine since the
early 1980s, is the Chief Physician Executive (CPE) at Mohawk Valley
Health System (MVHS) in Utica, New York; he will officially retire from
this esteemed position in January 2024; and

WHEREAS, In this capacity he is responsible for overseeing the
medical staff of the new Wynn Hospital, previously St. Elizabeth and St.
Luke's Campus, as well as credentialing, the MVHS Medical Staff Office,
Family Medicine Residency Program, Dental Residency Program, Palliative
Care, Medical Libraries, and the MVHS Medical Group; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious tenure as Chief Physician
Executive, Dr. Kent Hall has been instrumental in the opening of the new
Wynn Hospital in Utica, and has guided the medical team at MVHS through
the COVID-19 pandemic, and the most recent move into the new downtown
Utica facility; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, he has been a vital component in the high
quality of medical care delivered as well as for driving quality and
safety initiatives throughout MVHS, working directly with department
chairs, directors of contracted medical groups and hospital-based
physicians to coordinate patient care and safety efficiently; and

WHEREAS, Most recently, Dr. Kent Hall served as Chief Medical
Officer (CMO) at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh,
New York, and Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, New York, where he
worked to improve patient outcomes and delivery through improved
clinical quality processes, as well as operational efficiencies within
and between hospital based clinical services; and

WHEREAS, Prior to that, Dr. Kent Hall also served as Medical
Director of the Emergency Department at Champlain Valley Physicians
Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Kent Hall completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at
the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio; he received

his medical degree from Upstate Medical College in Syracuse, New York,
and his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Union College
in Schenectady, New York; and

WHEREAS, For more than four decades, Dr. Kent Hall's tireless
efforts and notable achievements have significantly contributed to
bettering the quality of life in his community, truly earning him the
admiration, affection, and esteem of his colleagues; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Dr. Kent Hall has served his
patients with compassion and care; he has contributed to the maintenance
and enhancement of the highest professional standards, sharing with
others his knowledge and expertise, as well as his dedication and
commitment to quality health care; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Dr. Kent Hall upon the occasion of his retirement, and to
wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Kent Hall.
