CONGRATULATING Mary T. Kuhn upon the occasion of
her retirement after four years of distinguished
public service to the Onondaga County Legislature

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those individuals of outstanding purpose whose lives have been
committed to public service and the pursuit of excellence in the conduct
of the legislative process in this noble Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Mary T. Kuhn upon the occasion of her retirement after four
years of distinguished public service to the Onondaga County
Legislature; and

WHEREAS, With great diligence and honor, Mary T. Kuhn served as the
7th District Onondaga County Legislator; the 7th District includes a
portion of the City of Syracuse and some of its north side; it also
includes a large area within the Town of DeWitt, including the Village
of East Syracuse; and

WHEREAS, Mary T. Kuhn was a Clinical Social Worker who spent over 30
years in public service; she retired as the Director of Onondaga
County's Child and Adolescent Outpatient Mental Health Clinic; and

WHEREAS, For 20 years, Mary T. Kuhn was a small business owner,
providing therapy for individuals and families, as well as pro bono
services for clients of Vera House; and

WHEREAS, A further testament to her dedication to accessible
therapy, Mary T. Kuhn worked for Contact Community Services as an on-air
therapist for the radio show entitled Teen Talk; and

WHEREAS, Since retirement, Mary T. Kuhn has been involved in the CNY
Interfaith Sanctuary Coalition which seeks to educate various faith
communities about the injustice of the immigration system and to
advocate for and support those individuals caught in it; and

WHEREAS, Mary T. Kuhn is the co-founder of Onondaga Votes!, a
non-partisan group focused on voter registration and civic engagement;
she is also on the Board of ArtRage, a gallery in the Hawley Green
neighborhood of Syracuse which exhibits progressive art supporting
social justice and encouraging social change; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mary T. Kuhn upon the occasion of her retirement after four
years of distinguished public service to the Onondaga County
Legislature; and be it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mary T. Kuhn.
