COMMEMORATING the 75th Anniversary of United Way
of the Adirondack Region

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of United Way of the Adirondack Region;
this monumental achievement will be celebrated on Saturday, March 9,
2024; and

WHEREAS, An organization dedicated to helping people, United Way of
the Adirondack Region was established in 1949 and serves Clinton, Essex
and Franklin Counties; and

WHEREAS, The mission of United Way of the Adirondack Region is to be
a leader in the community partnership building and to increase the
organized capacity of people to care for one another; and

WHEREAS, Through an extensive network of partner agencies, United
Way of the Adirondack Region is able to serve up to 80,000 people each
year; in addition, the organization raises much needed funds, focuses on
volunteerism, information and referral, non-profit resources, and
promoting financial stability through its ALICE Project; and

WHEREAS, United Way of the Adirondack Region tirelessly serves the
interests of the people of this Empire State, funding countless local
programs and initiatives, as well as working with community partners to
ensure outcomes are being met and impact is being made; and

WHEREAS, The success of United Way of the Adirondack Region is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its staff, volunteers and Board of
Directors, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by
an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to United Way of the
Adirondack Region; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
organizations which enhance the well-being and vitality of their
community and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence
certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of United Way of the Adirondack Region;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to United Way of the Adirondack Region.
