CONGRATULATING Kevin Vibbard, Sr. upon the
occasion of his retirement after 36 years of
distinguished service to Sherburne-Earlville High
School
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those
individuals whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of our
collegiate student athletes; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Kevin Vibbard, Sr. upon the occasion of his retirement
after 36 years of distinguished service to Sherburne-Earlville High
School; and
WHEREAS, On the night of their Boys' Varsity Basketball Senior
Night, Sherburne-Earlville High School honored Head Coach Kevin Vibbard,
Sr., who announced his retirement after an illustrious career of nearly
four decades; and
WHEREAS, As a testament to his dedication to mentoring young people,
led Sherburne-Earlville to seven CSC league championships, won Section
III's coach of the year twice, and achieved about 250 wins; and
WHEREAS, In his extraordinary career, Kevin Vibbard, Sr.'s 2007
Boys' Varsity Basketball team was state-ranked and went undefeated in
the regular season; the team battled in the class B tournament
semifinals, before ultimately falling with dignity; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to the
Sherburne-Earlville community, Kevin Vibbard, Sr. also ran a summer
basketball camp to teach youth the game of basketball and create future
basketball stars; in addition, he facilitates the Dave Dolly Youth
Program on Saturday mornings; and
WHEREAS, From his hard-work, dedication, and success throughout the
S-E basketball program, Kevin Vibbard, Sr. was honored in a big way as
the Sherburne-Earlville Central School District dedicated their
basketball court to him; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Kevin Vibbard, Sr., upon the occasion of his retirement
after 36 years of distinguished service to Sherburne-Earlville High
School, and to wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Kevin Vibbard, Sr.
