COMMEMORATING the 115th Anniversary of Heintz
Funeral Service, Inc. of Utica, New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
businesses and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 115th Anniversary of Heintz Funeral Service, Inc. of
Utica, New York; and

WHEREAS, Heintz Funeral Service is the oldest family owned and
operated funeral service in the Utica area; four generations of the
Heintz family have provided comfort and service to thousands of families
in times of personal loss; and

WHEREAS, Fred A. Heintz Sr., founded Heintz Funeral Service, Inc. on
April 9, 1909, operating its first location on Varick Street in Utica;
and

WHEREAS, In 1928, the funeral home relocated to its present location
at 1517 Whitesboro Street; Fred was joined by three of his sons, Fred A.
Heintz Jr., Edward C. Heintz and John W. Heintz, who together took over
the operation of the funeral home upon Fred Sr.'s death in 1941; and

WHEREAS, In 1978, Heintz Funeral Service expanded with the opening
of a new location at 408 Herkimer Road in North Utica; the third and
fourth generations joined the business during the 1960s to the 1990s;
and

WHEREAS, Today, Heintz Funeral Service continues to operate the
Whitesboro Street and Herkimer Road locations under the direction of
Terrance K. Heintz, President/Treasurer and Fred A. Heintz IV, Vice
President/Secretary; and

WHEREAS, Since its humble beginnings in 1909 as a small funeral home
on Varick Street, Heintz Funeral Service has grown and prospered; and

WHEREAS, Proudly operated by a third and fourth generation of the
Heintz family, Terry and Fred continue to provide the tradition of
personal service and attention to detail established by Fred A. Heintz
Sr., "Celebrating the lives of the ones you love. Since 1909."; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 115-year history, Heintz Funeral
Service has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of Heintz Funeral Service is in direct
correlation to the efforts of Terrance K. Heintz, President/Treasurer;
Fred A. Heintz IV, Vice-President/Secretary; and Roxann Heintz, Office

Manager, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the business and
the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Heintz Funeral Service;
and

WHEREAS, In light of its commitment, dedication and successful
efforts, it is the custom of this Legislative Body to extend its highest
commendation to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc. of Utica, New York; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 115th Anniversary of Heintz Funeral Service, Inc. of
Utica, New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc. of Utica, New York.
