COMMENDING Elejmal Temple No. 185 upon the
occasion of hosting its Potentate Ball, honoring
Illustrious Potentate Johan Powell on July 20, 2024

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Elejmal Temple No. 185 upon the occasion of hosting its
Potentate Ball, honoring Illustrious Potentate Johan Powell, to be
celebrated on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Crown Plaza Hotel in
Suffern, New York; and

WHEREAS, This illustrious Annual Charity Ball supports the youth,
elders, sick, and all community members in need of support and guidance;
and

WHEREAS, Elejmal Temple No. 185, Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order
Nobles Mystic Shrine of North and South America and Its Jurisdictions,
Inc. works tirelessly within its community to uplift local residents
through charity fundraisers and other positive initiatives with a focus
on youth programs, health in the Black community, auxiliary groups and
community outreach; and

WHEREAS, The Illustrious Potentate Johan Powell leads the Nobles of
Elejmal Temple with great dedication and discipline, upholding the true
spirit and mission of this vital organization, following the noblest
mandates and putting others above himself; and

WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Illustrious Potentate Johan
Powell, the organization's good deeds in the community serve as an
inspiration to all and continues to raise the bar by achieving
greatness; and

WHEREAS, The proficiency of the Temple and their good deeds in
caring for their neighbors shows in each benevolent action and a
lifetime of building true unity in the community; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
organizations and individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Elejmal Temple No. 185 upon the occasion of hosting its
Potentate Ball, honoring Illustrious Potentate Johan Powell on July 20,
2024; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Elejmal Temple No. 185 and Illustrious Potentate Johan
Powell.
