HONORING Mary Mandel upon the occasion of her
retirement after 15 years of distinguished service
to the New Hartford Central School District
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Mary Mandel upon the occasion of her retirement on Thursday, August 22,
2024, after 15 years of distinguished service to the New Hartford
Central School District, and 34 total years of service to the field of
public education; and
WHEREAS, For the past 15 years, Mary Mandel rendered faithful,
conscientious, and valuable service to the New Hartford Central School
District and was regarded as a pillar of the school community, proving
pivotal during budget planning and aiding colleagues in various
endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Mary Mandel began working as Supervisor of the Central
Business Office at Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES, moving on to work as a
business administrator for the Oriskany Central School District for
eight years, then as Assistant Superintendent of Business for the
Holland Patent School District for four years, until she moved on to the
New Hartford Central School District; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Assistant Superintendent for Business
Affairs, Mary Mandel served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, As Assistant Superintendent for Business Affairs, Mary
Mandel oversaw the school district's business office and was responsible
for developing the budget, supervising the buildings and grounds
department, overseeing food services and transportation, and more; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Mary Mandel was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with the New Hartford Central School
District, Mary Mandel earned the admiration, esteem, and affection of
her colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mary Mandel upon the occasion of her retirement after 15 years of
distinguished service to the New Hartford Central School District and 34
dedicated years of service to the field of public education; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mary Mandel.
