HONORING Sullivan County Treasurer Nancy Buck upon
the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Finance Officer of the Year Award by the New York
State County Treasurers and Finance Officers
Association

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens who would devote their life's work
and purpose to community service, contributing to the welfare of the
citizens of their communities and this great Empire State;

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Sullivan County Treasurer Nancy Buck upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Finance Officer of the Year Award by the
New York State County Treasurers and Finance Officers Association; and

WHEREAS, Within every community, there are inevitably some
individuals who, by virtue of their energy, vision, and dedication,
command the greatest respect among their friends and colleagues, and
within the community at large; Nancy Buck is one such individual; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Buck is receiving this prestigious award in
recognition of her 20-year commitment to the New York State County
Treasurers and Finance Officers Association; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Buck has served as President, Vice President,
Secretary and Treasurer of the New York State County Treasurers and
Finance Officers Association over her two decades of involvement with
this vital organization; and

WHEREAS, As president, Nancy Buck was instrumental in bringing the
Association's Summer Conference to Sullivan County, attracting nearly
100 treasurers and finance officers from across the State of New York to
the four-day gathering; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Nancy Buck has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Nancy Buck, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sullivan County Treasurer Nancy Buck upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Finance Officer of the Year Award by the
New York State County Treasurers and Finance Officers Association; and

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Nancy Buck.
