COMMEMORATING the 40th Anniversary of Hamilton
Orthopaedics of New Hartford, New York in July of
2024

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Hamilton Orthopaedics of New
Hartford, New York; and

WHEREAS, Founded by Dr. Ivan Gowan in 1984, Hamilton Orthopaedics
Spine & Sports Medicine serves thousands of people in Central New York
every year; patients include athletes, children, adults, and senior
citizens; and

WHEREAS, Providing advanced orthopaedic care, Hamilton Orthopaedics
and its team of highly renowned orthopedic specialists and surgeons
focus on sports medicine, spine, joint replacement, shoulder, elbow,
foot, ankle and much more; and

WHEREAS, Actively involved in local universities, Hamilton
Orthopaedics is responsible for the Sports Medicine coverage of the
athletic programs at Colgate University, Morrisville State College and
Utica University; the practice also attends games and treats many
athletes from high schools in Madison, Oneida, Herkimer and Chenango
counties; and

WHEREAS, As an additional service to the sports community, Hamilton
Orthopaedics has instated Sports Medicine walk-in clinics offered on
Monday mornings, designed specifically for treatment of acute injuries
that did not require immediate emergency treatment; and

WHEREAS, The success of Hamilton Orthopaedics is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its dedicated leadership and staff, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the business and the community
it serves; and

WHEREAS, For 40 years, Hamilton Orthopaedics has strived to improve
the health of community members it serves, with a commitment to
excellence in all it does through quality care and programs; and

WHEREAS , It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident it will continue to enjoy the
tremendous successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Hamilton Orthopaedics of New
Hartford, New York in July of 2024; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Hamilton Orthopaedics.
