HONORING Lisa Marschall upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by HEARTS of
Port Washington on February 10, 2023

WHEREAS, The unity of our State and Nation is built upon the
compassion of good individuals such as Lisa Marschall who uphold the
values of community life and who, through their great actions, epitomize
the best of humanity; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lisa
Marschall upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
by HEARTS of Port Washington, to be celebrated at its Annual Red Party
on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Polish American Hall, Port Washington,
New York; and

WHEREAS, HEARTS (Helping Enrich the Arts) of Port Washington is an
independent, grassroots, not-for-profit community organization whose
mission is to add meaningful value to children's lives by supporting,
promoting, and enriching the arts in public schools and throughout the
Port Washington community; and

WHEREAS, For Lisa Marschall, the arts, especially music, are
paramount; she began singing and dancing from an early age, joining
every choir and vocal group in Roslyn public schools; furthermore,
thanks to a favorite aunt, she began playing guitar at age 10; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Marschall was later exposed to theatrical hair and
makeup in high school, and after earning a Master of Business
Administration degree in Finance from New York University (NYU), she
became a professional hair and makeup artist; and

WHEREAS, After relocating to Port Washington, Lisa Marschall began
to donate her services to several local theater groups including the
Port Summer Show, Weber and Schreiber theater groups, and the Community
Synagogue Theater Company; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Lisa Marschall has given tirelessly of her time and energies
to the district's HSAs, Parent Council and Compact committees; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Marschall has been involved with HEARTS of Port
Washington since its inception, beginning as a volunteer before becoming
a Board member and co-chairing several Red Party events; she has been
involved in every PortFest since the inaugural festival in 2012, and is
now a leader who brings everything together to benefit the organization
and the community-at-large; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Kai, and their
two children, Emma and Jacob, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of her life and rejoice in her many achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Lisa Marschall has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Lisa Marschall, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lisa Marschall upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by HEARTS of Port Washington, and to wish her continued
success in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lisa Marschall.
