COMMEMORATING the 80th Anniversary of Nunn's Home
Medical Equipment of Rome, New York on July 19, 2022
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Nunn's Home Medical Equipment of
Rome, New York on Tuesday, July 19, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Nunn's Home Medical Equipment was founded by Martin J. Nunn
in 1942; since then, it has remained a family business, specializing in
home medical equipment; the company networks with the best providers and
professionals to give its customers the highest quality products,
personal service, and individual attention; and
WHEREAS, Martin J. Nunn started his business after a friend of his
could not find a wheelchair; he ordered one wheelchair and 12 were
delivered; since he did not need all of them, he decided to sell or rent
theta to those who did, and subsequently, Nunn's Home Medical Equipment
was founded; and
WHEREAS, Today, after more than eight decades of business, Nunn's
Home Medical Equipment remains in the family and is currently owned by
Erin and Shawn Weiman; and
WHEREAS, The success of Nunn's Home Medical Equipment is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its staff which includes certified
respiratory therapists, friendly and knowledgeable customer service
representatives, certified fitters of therapeutic shoes and mastectomy
products, highly trained delivery and service staff, and an experienced
billing staff, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized
by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an
uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the
business and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, For 80 years, Nunn's Home Medical Equipment has strived to
improve the health of those it serves with a commitment to excellence in
all it does through quality care and programs; and
WHEREAS , It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident it will continue to enjoy the
tremendous successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Nunn's Home Medical Equipment; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Erin and Shawn Weiman, Nunn's Home Medical Equipment,
Rome, New York.
