COMMENDING the Davidson family upon the occasion
of celebrating 60 years in business

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business
organizations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Davidson family upon the occasion of celebrating 60 years in
business; and

WHEREAS, Beginning in 1962, the Davidson family has been involved in
local business as well as their local communities; Davidson Chevrolet of
Rome, New York, opened its doors and laid the foundation for what is now
one of the leading automotive sales and service groups by providing
invaluable and outstanding service to the citizens of Central and
Northern New York; and

WHEREAS, This prominent family of dealerships now includes five
franchise stores, three state-of-the-art Collision Centers and 10
Precision Car Washes; the Davidson family serves as an outstanding
family-owned business with quality service, dealing with car dealership
and automotive-parts sales of popular vehicle makes and models; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, the Davidson family proudly introduced
Davidson Marine, located in Rome, New York, making quality marine
services available to the Central New York Region; and

WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of three generations, this
family-owned business has seen extraordinary growth throughout the
decades and their values have never changed; they have ensured a happy
family of employees and customers and take a great deal of pride in
everything they do; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
organizations and individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Davidson family upon the occasion of celebrating 60 years in
business; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Davidson family.
