COMMENDING Connie Wille upon the occasion of her
designation as the Dorothy and Alan Booth
Distinguished Citizen of the Year by the United Way
of the Adirondacks

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Connie Wille upon the occasion of her designation as the Dorothy
and Alan Booth Distinguished Citizen of the Year by the United Way of
the Adirondacks which was celebrated at its Annual Dinner on Saturday,
March 4, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Connie Wille earned a bachelor's degree in Child-Family
Services from SUNY Plattsburgh and her master's degree in Health
Services Administration from Sage Graduate School; and

WHEREAS, After her own recovery, Connie Wille began her career in
the field of prevention and treatment services working in various
positions such as counselor, and in patient program director; since
2000, she has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Champlain Valley
Family Center, where she feels blessed to work in a field where
expressing real feelings in a safe environment is critically important;
and

WHEREAS, In addition to her work with the Champlain Valley Family
Center, Connie Wille is a member of the Alcohol and Substance Abuse
Providers of New York (ASAP) and the Northern Tier Providers Coalition,
and serves on the Clinton County Housing Coalition and the Clinton
County Alcohol and Substance Abuse Subcommittee; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Connie Wille has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Connie Wille upon the occasion of her designation as the Dorothy
and Alan Booth Distinguished Citizen of the Year by the United Way of
the Adirondacks; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Connie Wille.
